Variations2 is now available for home installation by IUB students who are in classes requiring Variations2 use. This version of Variations2 will only work for audio, not for scores. We hope to make scores available eventually, after we work out some software licensing arrangements.

To learn more about installing Variations2 on your own computer, visit the appropriate download page in the Variations2 User Guide:

If you encounter problems installing Variations2, use the Variations2 Support Form to request help.

Variations has now been replaced by Variations2. Clicking on an audio URL in a course reserves list or in IUCAT starts Variations2 instead of Variations. Some benefits of Variations2 are

  • No more waiting 3-5 minutes for items to be retrieved.
  • You can use Variations2 on Macs, not just Windows PCs.
  • With Variations2 audio tools, you can create bookmarks, make your own playlists, and create visual analyses using the Timeliner.
  • Playlists can be used for "drop-the-needle" listening drills.

For help using Variations2, see the Variations2 User Guide.

Variations2 is jointly supported by the Indiana University Digital Library Program and Cook Music Library.
