Integrating discipline-specific tools into CMSs
superficially is not too hard
Integrating discipline-specific tools at a deeper level
could make work easier for students and teachers
But we could go deeper still!
students could collaboratively analyze and annotate media
synchronously (chat) and asynchronously (discussion forums,
rich media analytical tools could be integrated into quizzes?
Open source CMS initiatives such as Sakai may permit
this level of integration…will we be able to take
advantage of it??
